The seafloor water sampler K/MT 421 is designed for multi-depth seawater sampling operations to investigate the boundary between sediment and seafloor water. Jointly developed by K.U.M and the Alfred-Wegener Institute, the device has been put into use since 2001 and is used extensively in deep-sea sampling. It can take high-resolution samples of specific water layers in a very short time (a few minutes).
