BoWaSnapper K/MT 421 Pore Water Sampler - A Multi Layer Bottom Water Sampler Suitable for Deep Sea Deployment
BoWaSnapper is a multi-layer bottom water sampler suitable for deep-sea deployment, used for investigating sediment water interfaces (particles, organisms, geochemical tracers).
This product was developed in collaboration with Dr. E. Sauter from the Alfred Wagner Institute Bremerhaven and has been successfully used in water depths ranging from 20 meters to 5500 meters since 2001.

BoWaSnapper is capable of high-resolution sampling of the nearest water layer at the bottom in a short amount of time (just a few minutes).
Six vertically adjustable transparent water bottles are connected to the central axis for water sampling.
This multi layer bottom water sampler is equipped with an automatic bottom release device that can close the water bottle after a few minutes of contact with the seabed. It can be used with any serial cable without the need for data transmission cables.
Six transparent water bottles are aligned with the water flow through deflectors.
The bottom release device delays the closure of the bottle for a certain period of time after dispersing sediment particles and washing them away during ground landing. In this way, the original bottom water is collected from every layer on the seabed.
